Deidre Bainbridge, Office of the Chief Coroner and Forensic Pathology Service of Ontario
Deidre Bainbridge is a Provincial Nurse Manager for the Office of the Chief Coroner and Forensic Pathology Service of Ontario. She is also the chair of the DVDRC and the provincial lead for the management of unclaimed decedents.
Deidre has practiced as a nurse since 1989 and a nurse practitioner since 2001. She obtained her Master’s in Nursing in 2014. Her clinical practice has focussed on women’s health, specifically sexual assault, domestic violence and mental health. She is a nursing leader, educator and clinician researcher: co-author of 8 published scientific papers, author/presenter of 8 peer reviewed presentations and more than 30 invited presentations; she has taught more than 1000 nurses how to examine and treat living victims of sexual assault and domestic violence and document forensic findings. Awards include the International Association of Forensic Nurse Achievement Award and the Nurse Practitioner Association of Ontario’s President’s Award for practice innovation.
