Cathy Menard, Northwest Territories Office of the Chief Coroner
Cathy Menard has been the Chief Coroner for the North West Territories since 2010. She has worked for the NWT Coroner Office since 1996 and has been involved in NWT government services for over 30 years. Her office has made numerous recommendations on the prevention of domestic violence which is described as a significant problem in NWT communities with devastating consequences. There have been several significant recommendations put forth by the coroner's services including better screening of cases through emergency departments and broader public education on domestic violence.
