Olivia Peters, University of Manitoba
Olivia Peters is a Master’s student in Criminology at the University of Manitoba. For her Honours thesis, supervised by Dr. Rick Linden, she analyzed the development and application of a focused deterrence initiative on domestic violence in High Point, North Carolina. Her previous research has focused on intelligence-led policing strategies and domestic violence prevention, the overrepresentation of Indigenous peoples in violent victimization, and risk assessments for ex-intimate partner criminal harassment. For her Master's thesis, she is interested in the use of risk discourse in domestic violence research and fatality review.
Olivia is currently working with RESOLVE, a tri-provincial research centre on Interpersonal Violence, as a research assistant for Dr. Jane Ursel for the Canadian Domestic Homicide Prevention Initiative for Vulnerable Populations.
